Grand Cayman 2023

It is always a pleasure to visit Grand Cayman.

It feels almost like home, since we've visited before, in 2016 and 2019.

and then the pandemic hit...

but nothing would keep us away.

The island is bouncing back from COVID-19 lockdown - with a vengeance - prices have tripled!

Many places are still closed - Downtown Georgetown was a ghost town.

Some popular spots like Rum Point were still closed for renovations. BTW there was quite a lot of construction everywhere.

Also, it has been a really bad summer for the sargassum invasion and all the coastline except Seven Mile beach was drowning in seaweed. :( as you can see in these pictures of Breakers:

But we took it easy and visited new (to us) places, revisited old favorites and went scuba diving.

Macabuca

Starfish Point

Seven Mile Beach

Smith Cove

Camana Bay

Coral Beach

and we fell in love with the island and its people.

This time we decided to revisit some places, do what we missed during our first trip,
and of course, get our daily dose of Seven Mile Beach
(following doctor's orders!!)
